A silly meme I saw this morning, now corrected!

Running is supposed to be fun. Not misery. Even in a 50 mile race through the hills, where I struggled afterwards 36 miles, I was never miserable.
Let me know if your run today was fun or misery. 🙌

Good luck to everyone running the #londonmarathon this weekend!
If you want to do a marathon next year, be it in the Spring or Autumn, get in touch to get an adaptable plan in place, rather than relying on a set-in-stone thing.

Let's talk about: PRONATION.
Follow @runningversity
😎 Pronation is useful.
Pronation is a normal part of impact absorption. It's when the ankle rolls in during foot placement.
Some people roll in (pronate).
Some people roll out (supinate).
It's not normally an issue!

A reminder to keep going through any tough times. I fell off a ladder 3 years ago. This August, I've just breached 100 miles running for the first time in those 3 years! This would have seemed like an easy milestone 3 years ago when I was fast and fit. Now it seems huge 😍
When you look at your stats and know it's time for an easy week! Who here is due for one soon? To let the body recover properly. I'll still be doing 5 days, but will do less hours on feet and skip a speed session.

To improve the value on your Garmin, you need time and training. Train at an easy effort for most runs & your VO2 Max should increase within 6 weeks. Do occasional runs at a high effort to see extra gains.

What's your biggest running struggle? Is it not knowing how to progress? Nutrition? Recovery? Injury? Kit? Race addiction? (lol)

It's tough in this heat. Give each other a mental boost! If I see a runner toughing it out in the heat I do my best to make them smile. I got a great response from people on today's run. Do your bit 👌🙌💕

If you are doing ANY running, then you are a runner. You don't have to be doing races or huge miles each week or be able to run really fast. Be proud of what you ARE doing.

Ask me questions!
HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE DOES THE HEAT MAKE?
Well, now you know! Normally at say 15°C, this run would have been an easy pace and effort, with HR staying in Zone 2 (low) the whole way. However, at double that temperature, without increasing pace, my HR ramped up constantly throughout
TRAINING FOR A RACE? Make sure you get it right. Ramping up and up without recovery leads nowhere good.
