RIP OPTION SELLING

Derivatives Markets have 3 important participants : FII, Prop Desk and Retail. Nifty and Sensex expiry have become an unfair play. Retail liquidity has dried up. Now prop desk funding is also gone. Only player left is FII like Jane Street and Citadel which have unlimited funding and high frequency algos. They can make the market dance to their tunes. They have completely taken over Indian options market. When Rs. 40 option becomes Rs. 400 after 3pm why will FII sell options. Option sellers will slowly dry up in this market and shift to other global markets like US and Europe. When markets become unfair play it is better to seek alternative avenues rather than loose your capital against manipulation.

Just see the bid ask spead of Nifty Futures : Bid - 24230 and Ask 24236. The difference is 6 pts. There was a time when this difference was in 0.25 or 0.50 pts. This clearly shows that when 2 imporant participants are kicked out only one particiapnt has complete control over markets and they can take the market up or down at their own timings and can easily decide where to make the index expire. This cant be called manipulation but rules have been bent in their favor. Retail option traders have been given an unfair play. These Fiis suffered huge losses during 2023 and 2024 when retail was highly active. They were bearish and retail was buying every dip. In Oct 2024 when daily expiries were stopped this worked well in favor of FII trader because retail went away. Then when STT on options were increased, this was the second favorable outcome for FIIs. Now with prop desk funding restrained, FII traders rule the options market. 3 pm random moves take option prices 40-50x up or down. No where in the world does this happens except in India. When the structure of the market is tampered with the market becomes favorable for few foreign operators who have money power. Why will FII buy in cash market when with 3 pm moves they can make 30-40x in option buying looting remaining Indian retail ?
