Then the election committee holds “democratic consultations” until only the approved names are left.
Independents get filtered, warned, or invited for tea.
You vote in secret — between the remaining options.
Village committees get elected, but the Party secretary is the leadership core and is now usually the village head as well.
You can try to recall a deputy. Then it dies in committee.
Higher levels are all indirect.
No opposition parties exist. The only parties allowed already accept CCP leadership.
That’s the whole menu. The secret ballot is real. The choice isn’t.
The final result: a pig at the top no one can remove.
