Bill 64 is short-sighted. @CliffCullenMLA says to trust the current government. What about when the current government is no longer in power? How can he promise the system won’t be gutted when he won’t be minister forever? (op-ed appears in the Sentinel Courier and other papers)

@MBGov’s defence for Bill 64 has consistently been redirecting people to the BEST strategy. They have yet to defend the bill using the text of the bill. Why not? If Bill 64 benefits communities, answers to questions will ease concerns. From Southern Manitoba Review (and others).

Bill 64 with its many flaws is what we will live with and that's the grim reality.

They've made deliberate funding choices to increase reliance on property taxes, then tied the hands of school boards and trustees by limiting how much they can raise locally.
It's an example of the 'starve the beast' strategy.

Winkler is Manitoba's 6th largest community. If they are concerned about losing their representation under the system proposed by Bill 64, how should the rest of rural Manitoba feel? Winkler voted 87.5% Progressive Conservative 2019; concern about Bill 64 is not partisan.
