I'm some sort of funlet that occasionally streams vidya with a very shaky schedule.
I also have loud opinions about things that don't matter (see also: games).
@Bebatch@discord_support Can someone from @discord_support have a look at this?
The recovery system in place wasn't enough, Bebatch needs some eyes on the situation.
@Bebatch@TeamYouTube@TeamYouTube@gmail
Any chance you would be able to get in contact with @Bebatch and review the history of changes on his account to help recover it?
It seems like the account was compromised and added as a Child account to a different one, making it impossible for him to remedy.
@discord@discord_support On 9/9/25, the discord account savii6869 was hacked via token-theft through a suspicious link sent to her from a compromised friend.
Immediately, the email attached to that account was also compromised and shortly thereafter, the X account that shared that email address.
The hacker is familiar with Discord's hack response and deleted the account. It's gone. It cannot be recovered.
Meanwhile, the service and support communications have been little more than the image attached here. This is unacceptable. While the true owner of the account is trying to get the account back, the hacker is using her identity to hack others.
Through inaction, Discord is complicit in this hack campaign. Many people are being hit with these hacks and if this is the response, the losses these people take will be beyond calculation.
Discord needs to fix this immediately.
If Discord can't give the account back even after the user's identity was clearly established; then delete or suspend the compromised account. Perform a review of the account's DM history - do something.
If anyone else is hurt by this security issue following this notification, the hacker is only partially to blame. By allowing this to persist, equal culpability falls to Discord.
Anyone seeing this message: boost it to raise awareness.
This is broken and dangerous.
Discord wants to be a mainstream communications platform, but they can be compromised with a mere click of a link - and have no policy for recovery of accounts in this situation.
Hackers know this and orchestrate hacks like this specifically to exploit these weaknesses.
If the platforms turn a blind eye to such a situation, the only thing we can do is elevate visibility as a community.
i forgot i posted this but i was *almost* right, since rabbit & steel is going to be bullet hell raid bosses for solo play or co-op up to 4 players.
patiently looking forward to it.
@iKeychain It's funny because I have yet to see a single game that appealed to a hardcore audience exclusively and attracted anything but a tiny niche and maybe died for it (hi wildstar).
Competitive games quickly fester into a space that aggressively rejects you for not being all knowing.
@kino_chrome That aside, it's both impressive and offputting to watch Twitch spurn its own userbase so much that Google, by virtue of doing practically nothing at this point, is looking better just because it's (mostly/seemingly/topically) devoid of inane/harmful decisions.
@kino_chrome To this day, I cannot unhear "GUYS, YOU GOTTA GET BOUNTY PAPER TOWEL FOR YOUR BATTLE STATION"
It just exudes "How do you do, fellow kids?" energy and it makes me seriously wonder who the hell greenlit it.
