South Korea is rolling back its northern defense perimeter.
On June 17, the Ministry of National Defense announced a major relaxation of military restrictions near the North Korean border.
Three changes stand out.
First, the Civilian Control Line will move 2 kilometers northward, opening more land to civilian access.
Second, an area 150 times the size of Yeouido will be released from "restricted protection zone" status, easing development rules that required military approval for new construction.
Third, 23 anti-tank barriers designed to stop enemy armored units will be demolished next year. The stated reason: they are outdated and causing traffic congestion.
On the surface, this is framed as deregulation and regional development. In practice, it removes functioning wartime defense infrastructure.
The moves align with the Lee Jae-myung administration's conciliatory posture toward Pyongyang, and concern is growing.

@monarchreport25 Of course he is going to try to weaken the forces that control the safety of the country. For if an invasion from North occurs, South Korea will have nothing to detain it.
Where are the strong people of Korea, have they all died?
South Korea's Election Commission Knew About Vote-Counting Error. And Covered It Up.
Police opened an investigation into North Jeolla Province's Election Commission for concealing a vote-counting error.
In the June 3 local elections, 1,104 votes vanished from the education superintendent race. Another 994 votes were double-counted.
Provincial commission officials knew by June 4 morning. They still reported "no problems" at a 3 p.m. meeting and certified the winner at 4 p.m.
They confirmed the result knowing the count was wrong.
When the error went public, officials claimed they had not learned of it until June 5. They used a June 5 email to appear unaware on June 4.
The deception extended to their own superior, the commission chairman.
Police are investigating whether officials covered this up to protect their promotions.
@monarchreport25 That is outrageous!!! Investigations should move forward to take these fraudulent people out of power. Why have someone unqualified make so many changes in the country. Changes that will take lives and their rights.
@Biafranman001@USCIRF This is scary. If the world close their eyes. And don't take action, it saying that it is okay to do what they are doing to the Nigerian people.
