New Signing โ๏ธ
AFC Rushden & Diamonds are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Charlie Woods from Rugby Town.
Woods arrives at Hayden Road after establishing himself as one of the Northern Premier League Midlands Division's most promising young goalkeepers. Just turned 22, he already possesses valuable experience at Step 4 and joins the club following spells with Quorn, Coventry Sphinx and Rugby Town.
Diamonds supporters may already be familiar with Woods from his appearances against the Club. During his time with Coventry Sphinx, he faced the Diamonds on a number of occasions and produced several impressive performances, including saving penalties in both home and away fixtures against Sphinx during the 2024/25 season.
Now making the switch to Hayden Road, Woods becomes the latest addition to Elliot Sandy's squad ahead of the new campaign as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season. Elliot had this to say about his new man:
"Charlie is someone we were keen on last summer but for one reason or another, the move didn't materialsie last year, so I'm glad we've been able to get it done now. He's a young keeper with great experience for his age. He knows the level well and has always impressed us when we've seen him. Really importantly for me, during discussions this summer he made it very clear that he wanted to play for AFC Rushden & Diamonds and to me, that is really important."
Charlie will be available for sponsorship once player sponsorships open in July.
Everyone at AFC Rushden & Diamonds would like to welcome Charlie to the club and wish him every success in a Diamonds shirt.
@EvanMac77@SpaldingUnited@AFCRD I accidentally posted that badge to be fair ๐. I meant to post this. The badge theyโre using in that graphic is not quite correct. Our Wikipedia page has the incorrect version of the badge, which is where I presume they got that from. This one below is the right one.
AFC Rushden & Diamonds are absolutely thrilled to continue our partnership with @NRGUKGroup for the 2026/27 season ๐๐ค
Well-known to our community, NRG UK Group are dedicated to providing bespoke lighting solutions to a range of B2B clients.
The partnership will see the NRG UK Group logo return, pride of place on our home shirts and across our social media platforms. Their renewed support allows the club to continue to grow on and off the pitch, providing a vitual community asset for Rushden.
Speaking about the partnership, Alex Raspin, Vice Chair of AFC Rushden & Diamonds said: "Seeing the work NRG UK Group have done with the club over the last season, we were really keen to try and renew that partnership. They have shown more dedication to our club than we could have hoped for, and we are incredibly grateful to be able to continue our work together. We are a community club that is all about providing value to our local area and more importantly our fans - NRG UK Group share this passion and so it's just a perfect match.
When we announced our partnership with NRG last season, it came just a day before our opening fixture. This year, however, weโre still over a month away from pre-season and even further from the new campaign beginning in August, so securing this agreement at such an early stage is a major positive for the club.
Not only does it give us real confidence in reaching our commercial targets, but it also allows us to continue building in other areas without the uncertainty that lingered throughout much of last summer. Weโd like to place on record our thanks to everyone at NRG UK Group for their continued support and for helping get this deal completed early."
NRG UK Group's Callum Bale, Key Accounts Manager, added: "Being able to give back to the club this past season has been incredibly rewarding, and we are really excited to be continuing this. We knew going into the season that we were partnering with a special club, but seeing and being a part of the many events and special days over the course of the year really cemented to us that AFC Rushden & Diamonds was a club we wanted to continue to work with.
Thank you to every fan that has supported us last season. We are so excited for another season working together, and can't wait for that first kick off!"
