The Israeli army has called on residents of 53 villages in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa to evacuate their homes and move at least one kilometre away.
“Whoever is behind it, the launching of rockets from southern Lebanon is an irresponsible and suspicious act. It endangers Lebanon’s security and safety and gives Israel pretexts to continue its attacks against it.
We will not allow the country to be dragged into new adventures, and we will take all necessary measures to stop those responsible and protect the Lebanese people.”

The group says the attack was in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and in response to ongoing Israeli strikes, calling it a “legitimate act of self-defence.”

Joy across Gaza as Palestinians await the return of prisoners released under the exchange deal with Israel. Tears dance as families hoping this marks the start of lasting peace after two years of war.
Two years of war.
Gaza is exhausted, its people are hungry, homeless, and running out of hope. Many now beg for peace, even an imperfect one.“We just want to live,” a young father told the BBC.
