IDK, this whole exercise has shown a couple of things. MLB umpires are pretty damn good. And some guys should not be allowed to challenge balls/strikes...especially pitchers.
I ate a dozen raw eggs a day for a few months back in college.
I eventually learned that this was not only unnecessary but counterproductive.
For anyone considering the raw egg thing, just know that egg protein is less bioavailable when raw.
Cooked egg protein also has a higher protein efficiency ratio and net protein utilization - meaning more amino acids end up being used for muscle repair.
Eating raw eggs sounds cool.
It made me feel hardcore for a while.
But the science ultimately calls BS.
The best two strike approach is zone discipline under pressure.
Elite hitters do NOT survive by widening out, shortening up, expanding the zone, or slowing bat speed.
They shrink the zone, keep intent, and swing at strikes more than balls.
At WY our spring trip was to CA. Fullerton, Fresno St, Stanford. It was freezing but had to get hitters some live ABs before we left. We chipped the ice and snow off the mound/plate and shuttled Hs and Ps to the field from the fieldhouse. Coldest day ever spent on a field.
The beginning of college baseball season is always hilarious because one day you’re fielding ground balls in a parking garage and having live AB’s in a basketball gym because your field is buried in ice and then it just goes okay guys tomorrow we open up with LSU. Go get em.
Some of the shit HS coaches let their players get away with is honestly mind-blowing. And it's a crappy excuse to say you can't discipline your guys because you might lose. You create and allow absolute chaos and expect your athletes to compete for you? Good luck.
MASCOT IDENTITY CRISIS: MUSTANGS VS. THE MAROON LUMBERJACKS? 🐴💚⚓️
I’ve consulted the ancient scrolls (Wikipedia) and I’m still confused. Avon Lake calls themselves the “Shoremen,” which sounds like a sturdy brand of rain boots. But their mascot? 🧵
Not trying to be a hater. But his feet are a mess. He doesn't square up on throws, and looks like he throws off his front side. He seems out of synch, even rolling to his right. Maybe it's happy feet or nerves, but if that's what scouts saw, I get it now.
A lot of people say you HAVE to be palm up/palm down during exchange. This video clearly shows that isn’t the case.
Pitch location & natural preference will dictate how your hands are positioned and sometimes, your fingers will be pointing up.

I don't see how we stop the arm injury epidemic if teams continue to have 11-12 man rosters at the youth level. 4-6 games in 72 hours and if you're not pitching you're playing the field. By Sunday their legs are shot making poor mechanics worse.
We're playing a hockey team from Buffalo who are obviously Bills fans with a team name inspired by the Minnesota Northstars. That's a lot to digest this early in the morning...
