After a bit of delay, the #fantasyhockey player comp tool is back and updated through last night's games! Compare players with with stats from this year or the last two seasons. Updates will come weekly #DFS#NHL
There is word the NHL, NHLPA and NHL Player Inclusion Coalition have agreed that players will have the option to represent social causes with stick tape throughout the season. This includes games and practices
Interesting point of context on the DeBrincat trade. If #RedWings had signed him to an offer sheet at the same amount, the compensation would be a 1st (DET), 2nd, and 3rd. Instead it’s a 1st (DET or BOS), a 4th, Kubalik, and Sebrango. Certainly more immediate help for Ottawa
More info according to multiple sources in women's hockey tonight:
-The PHF will cease all operations
-The PHF's player contracts will be terminated; players will receive severance and a period of continued health benefits

Just throwing it out there, Otto Stenberg feels like an Yzerman pick. I think he probably goes after 17 and before 41 so the draft fit might not be there, but he seems like the kind of forward Yzerman likes #LGRW#NHLDraft

Very telling that word of progress is coming out now after talks previously paused to focus on a playoff push
That plus Walman extension and Doucet signing seems like Detroit is more comfortable committing to future dollars now because they have clarity on present. Bye Bert?
Boarding a flight right now, but hearing there has been progress between the Red Wings and captain Dylan Larkin on a contract extension. Something to keep an eye on — obviously would be huge for the Red Wings to get that piece of business squared away.
Ovi still at 800, 1 behind Howe. Next game against Leafs on Saturday, but the game after that is against Detroit on Monday. Detroit… as in the team Howe spent most of his career with. As in the team Howe scored his 801st goal against. Tune in Monday
I would have to look at the groupings closer, but 8 sets of 4 teams feels right because otherwise you have a long set up (8 teams per…) or you don’t have the same number of teams in each pod and therefore a different number of games
I think the thing the #NHL may be missing with adding more games between “geographical rivals” is that it makes those games less unique, less special. Battle of Alberta? Awesome. Is it still awesome if it happens every 3 weeks? So raise the stakes. In-season micro tourneys (1/x)
This way you get more “geographical rivalry” games, less travel as each team plays 4 games at the same location, and it’s more interesting than CHI/STL on a random Tuesday for the 7th time in a season. It’s an event the NHL can throw that may reduce cost rather than add
