I am furious. Evidently somebody at the Nursing and Midwifery Council leaked the report about Marlon's suspension over his social media posts to the Manchester Evening News in order to torpedo Restore Britain's Greater Manchester mayoral campaign.

A disgraceful misuse of power to harm Restore Britain.

Marlon was posting about the rape of his daughter by Pakistani gangs. In a private group. He is allowed to be angry about that. OBVIOUSLY.

It certainly looks like an individual at the NMC, with access to private files, has leaked that to the media days before an election in order to damage Restore Britain.

It will not work.

In the last few hours alone Andy Burnham’s Government has talked about:

Cutting energy bills
Lifting the personal tax allowance
Nationalising Thames Water
The biggest council house programme since the War
Giving mayors more funding
Creating a new National Care Service
More overseas aid
Cutting student loan repayments
More employment support
Ending homelessness

These are billions of pounds of spending commitments and that's on top of raising defence spending to 3%.

Where’s the money coming from?

There’s been no serious explanation at all of how they will be funded. I am very concerned the Prime Minister is making a lot of promises without giving the country an explanation about how we can afford them.

We cannot borrow even more - we are paying more in debt interest than we do on defence.

The answer can’t be tax rises either. The tax burden is already far too high, and families and businesses shouldn’t face even higher bills.

The only answer is to cut spending. Andy Burnham should be in Parliament explaining what his actual plans are and how he is going to pay for them.

This is shocking.

Restore Britain’s Greater Manchester mayoral candidate, Marlon West (@MarlonTag), is a qualified mental health nurse. Marlon has spent 30 years working in the NHS across Greater Manchester. He has just been suspended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, days before the election.

Evidently, the timing of the suspension is very questionable.

For those who don’t know, Marlon’s daughter was raped and abused by gangs of Pakistani men in Greater Manchester. Marlon has spent years campaigning to ensure other families do not suffer the same fate.

What has Marlon been suspended for?

In a discussion on a private Facebook group, Marlon referred to the injuries his daughter received at the hands of one of these gangs.

His ‘offending’ language?

“This is what Pakistanis do. After being raped and tortured. My daughter you sicko”.

Clearly, Marlon is right. Pakistani men have been largely responsible for industrial rape across Britain. Marlon knows that better than any of us.

Since the original referral into these comments, they have made further investigations into other social media posts that Marlon has made.

Marlon stated “Ban Afghans from entering the UK”.

I entirely agree with him - that is Restore Britain policy.

Marlon’s response is below.

“I regret nothing, and I will not be apologising. I stand by everything I said.

Gangs of primarily Pakistani Muslim men have raped, abused and tortured vulnerable white English girls across Greater Manchester for decades.

Finally there is the political will to fight it with Restore Britain.

Cutting VAT on energy bills might marginally shave down bills, but it doesn't fix the reason Britain's energy is so outrageously expensive in the first place.

We've become so used to headline-grabbing gimmicks from politicians instead of tackling the structural causes of high energy prices.

We need to address the underlying sickness.

Our entire energy system has been bastardised in the name of net zero - slowly, but relentlessly. It needs an equally ambitious programme to reengineer it back so that the primary aim is to provide cheap and abundant energy for our people.

Restore Britain has provided that in our energy policy paper.

British families don't need a few quid off here and there - they need permanently lower bills.

When the cost of energy falls, everything else will follow.

Inflation - this is part of how we keep it under control.

Cheap, reliable and abundant energy.

Restore Britain's plan is to deliver exactly that. Repeal the policies driving up energy costs, end unnecessary green levies and subsidies, unlock Britain's own oil and gas reserves, accelerate nuclear power, utilise renewables where appropriate/cost-effective, and build an energy system based on cheap, reliable and abundant domestic supply.

We are the only party with a genuine plan that is properly thought out, detailed step by step in our energy policy document.

That is how we permanently reduce energy bills for British families.

We need to start thinking in decades, not election cycles.

That approach won't win many votes, but it's the only true route to restoration.
