@iguanaspace My friends and I don’t follow the balance dataslate so it doesn’t bother us. We’re casual, play once every fortnight in my friends summer house to get away from the kids for a couple of hours, and that suits us.
@DiscourseMinis That’s an interesting take! I’d considered it more akin to the soldier at the end of the war who thought they were fighting for glory and it turned out to be corrupt bureaucracy, so far removed from the original ideals that they didn’t feel it was ultimately worth it
@BitsHammer@ZiktorsIguana That goes a long way to explaining why there are so many WW2 films. As well as having an obvious ‘bad guy’, you can use the military bucks and legacy equipment!
@ZiktorsIguana@BitsHammer This is literally the reason there are so few modern WW1 films. USA makes the movies and we’re involved for 6 months. I believe quite a few war films are funded by the military (The CIA also fund a fair amount of movies)
@Brawlerguts My non-gamer friends like playing Silver Tower for couples board game evenings. It’s not too heavy on the gaming side but it’s still more complex than Monopoly. Go for it!
@MiniApothecary Escapism! Every fortnight I get to play a game with mates and ignore the responsibilities. In the evenings after work and my kids are asleep, I unwind with painting. It’s a break from the noise of life
