@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 Exactly as if they did there would be no more Israel. While Israel has killed less than 10% of the Palestinian population. That's some restraint in war, risking the lives of your own troops on the ground, when carpet bombing would do the job with minimal israeli casualties
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 It was peaceful or there would be videos of the trouble. You'd expect a bit of verbals from both sides as the marchers past. But as usual the media will only focus on the loyalist side
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 Who said they were community representatives? Anybody can turn up at a protest. Are you saying we should give the UDA praise for the protest being peaceful?
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 When you consider the population of Palestine and the military might of Israel the Israelis have been very restrained. If the IRA had of had the same firepower there wouldn't be a protestant or a Brit left in Ireland
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 It's a war. Hamas wants to wipe out Israel. Israel can either defeat hamas or cease to exist. The marchers support Israel's annihilation with their from the river to the sea chants. Islam has plenty of land the Jews only have Israel & they create buffer zones after being attacked
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 It's a republican parade in support of hamas terrorists. Out of interest if the people of Scarva held a parade along the same route next week to remember all those innocents butchered by Hamas that would be alright wouldn't it? There'd be no opposition to that would there? 🇬🇧🇮🇱
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 They looked more like scarfs than masks. Any pictures I've seen they don't look like paramilitaries. They were within firing distance of the marches but remained peaceful so they were very poor paramilitaries if they were
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 How do you know who they are 🤣 any UDA statement released or something? It's not illegal to wear a scarf afaik. Some marchers wore masks, waved flags, shouted abuse as well. If you call that horrific abuse you ought to hear what loyal order marchers had to take from republicans
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 What have the UDA got to do with it? The Scarva protest was peaceful as far as I know. Are you saying peaceful protests should be banned? Or politicians should not attend protests? Plenty of SF politicians attend protests all the time. Should nationalists not vote for them?
@Coolavin53@MatthewOToole2 Why don't republicans offer to allow orange parades down Garvaghy road, lower ormeau road, dunloy etc in exchange for erection of Irish language signs. Let's then see who's up for the compromises necessary to make NI work? 5 mins a year in exchange for an all year round sign
@Coolavin53@MatthewOToole2 Attend north south bodies, attended Irish language schools, GAA games, went to Martin magennis funeral, welcome the Irish president are a few of the reconciliation acts that I can think of and I'm sure there's many more.
@Eq5tFpM2eBw9PZi@MatthewOToole2 Are you saying everyone who votes SF isn't decent? As far as I know nobody was killed yesterday, not even a stone was thrown in anger. Unlike when republicans come out to protest
@MatthewOToole2@annie_mcginley I assume you've forgotten the actions of Brid Rodgers on the Garvaghy Road? Or Claire Hanna threatening civil unrest at a minimum if even a camera was erected at the border? Appalling behaviour?
@camannua@Choyaa13@CallionFiona How would you respond if a pro Israel march walked the same route next week? Do you think it would receive any opposition in lurgan, Newry or Omeath?
@naomi_long@jni_1972@carlalockhart As the justice minister you'd think you'd know the legal difference. One is parading to promote an illegal terrorist organisation and therefore is breaking the law the other is not promoting any illegal organisation or activity and is therefore not breaking the law.
@annie_mcginley Really I seem to remember all shades of nationalism & republican politicians standing with the residents on the garvaghy road as they hurled abuse & stones at Orangemen. If it had of been a pro Israeli parade going the same route it wouldn't even have got out of Lurgan
