"Swimmers told to avoid these 19 beaches in England considered no longer safe amid diarrhoea and sickness warning."
I still find it utterly shocking, it's 2024, a G7 member state & people are being told to stay away from the beach.
What's wrong with us?

You never think that littering with such a small thing could cause so much damage, so much pain.
Poor little Parish wandered into this carelessly discarded band of velcro tape, probably as he was nosing through leaf litter looking for food.
He would have been very tiny, and he's only 150g now.
The velcro band caught round his neck and, because a hedgehog's spines act like a barb so they can't back out, there it stayed, as Parish grew.
With each day's growth, that band became tighter and tighter around this little baby's neck.
Eventually it was so tight it tore into his skin, agonisingly cutting open his throat, restricting his breathing and swallowing.
Every movement would have been torture.
Please snip with scissors ANYTHING that forms a circle, no matter how small, before putting it in a bin: the plastic ring from the top of a drinks bottle, elastic bands, six-pack rings, etc.
And if you see this litter on the street, please pick it up and save a life.
