“The deepest desire of the human spirit is to be acknowledged” - S. Covey
I love everything about this - especially seeing Ss read their personal message & smiling because they were individually recognized or running into the room to say thank you. @SundlingJH#D15Learns 🖤💙
This is the second year that I incorporated two-page spreads during book clubs for students to show their thinking as they read, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite activity! So proud of their work! @KellyGToGo @pennykittle #paladinpride
Looks like I’m going to have to buy another copy of this beautiful book by @jeffzentner for my classroom library because I can’t let go of this one! I loved the infusion of poetry and the message of using writing to heal our wounds.
I was so excited for the release of this book (a prequel to one of my all-time favorite YA novels, We Were Liars) that I saved it as my first summer read. @elockhart transports us back to Beechwood Island with her brilliant writing style that kept me flipping through the pages!
Many thanks to Mike @todasco for joining our class today to share your insightful creative writing process. My students were inspired by your tips and went straight into brainstorm mode for their own creative writing pieces!✍️
William Shakespeare turns 457 years old tomorrow, so we celebrated by writing next to Sonnet 18 (and listened to rap versions!), played around with his famous phrases, and wrote a line in iambic pentameter—I’d say we made The Bard of Avon proud! 🥳
Thank you for joining our 5th period class today, Officer Taylor! Your expertise will help students create powerful opening/closing statements that will determine Mary Maloney’s fate! @roald_dahl#lambtotheslaughter#sundlingstrong
