@Cheap_camo I get it, nobody wants to be forced into something because a liberal told them to and environmental blah blah. Other hand, almost no moving parts, no clutch/trans, more torque all the time. No driveshafts. Low center of gravity etc. so much better.
@orz68483437 Bought a truck brand new, $60k drove it for 14 yrs (410kms) sold it for $8k, $3800 a year plus maintenance of maybe $1200 yr, cost of driving $5k/yr
@flaskvalve Have discussed it with fire fighters, far less likely to catch on fire just harder to extinguish.
How many times has your laptop or cordless drill caught on fire? Prob got them charging inside.
@JoshSmolt@monkiiee01@albertaradios At $53hr you would need a shit ton of OT to make much over $300k. That being said 45% is still ridiculous then add on all the other taxes. wonder how much is actually spent on the goods.
@guyfelicella It's Alberta, if you're worried about an AI data center contaminating our water just go for a drive.............. All the industrial facilities can do much worse
@mitchricardofl@passivitedevant@canalCCore2 electric motors feel alive the minute you feel instantaneous torque with out the need of clutching or transmissions. Electric motors/inverters can be worked on and improved very easily plus electric motors will make torque until they wreck themselves
@GuntherD8@canalCCore2 ahh the Achilles heel to electric drive. If only we could store electrical energy as easily as fuel. That being said the battery warranty for a Tesla (S,X) is 2.4 times longer than any combustion drivetrain counterpart.
@passivitedevant@canalCCore2 sorry, not good enough to reply in French. I mean it is impressive that combustion engines perform this perfect balance of so many moving parts to achieve a goal but the same goal can be accomplished without the complexity.
@WildBill6976@GuntherD8@canalCCore2 Bearings are bearings, there are only two in electric. Electronics etc. are far more reliable than the rest of ICE again due to (almost) no moving parts.
