@ExoGhost People want fast movement with sliding (+ cancelling), jumping, etc. It is not possible to do that sort of rapid erratic movement and use a controller to aim, hence the aim assist, but only if you are moving. Older CODs didn't have this movement, so didn't have this aim assist.
@smallbreamboy@TNotional@ShanghaiHannah@edwardlamb In my case I didn't (or indeed know what speed I was doing). However the Police had the radar gun and were measuring the speed of the car I overtook, meaning I had to be going faster than that.
@TNotional@ShanghaiHannah@edwardlamb Not in my opinion. However if the Police say you are, it then ends up as your word against theirs in front of a magistrate. If they say you were clocked at over 30 overtaking a car, there is a good chance it will not go your way.
@TNotional@ShanghaiHannah@edwardlamb I was not going to argue with the Police about something like that. It can easily go wrong, because even if there is no limit that applies to a cycle, they can say that riding at that speed was dangerous and prosecute for that. By agreeing and taking a warning, left with no issue
@TNotional@ShanghaiHannah@edwardlamb Only saying what they said. No I didn't face any sort of penalty for it, but was still in excess of the limit (can't have been much). While you can't actually be prosecuted for speeding, you can for dangerous cycling.
@ShanghaiHannah@edwardlamb They can. I got stopped by the Police some years ago who said I was speeding in a 30. When I pointed out that I didn't have a speedometer, they said overtaking a car should have been a clue (it was down hill though).
@ExoGhost If they removed SBMM, some people would get a shock when they found out removal of lag caused by prioritizing SBMM over connection, makes it easier for them to get shot and they are not as good as they thought. The lag is a big reason for complaints about TTK and hit reg,
@ExoGhost The how it used to be depends on when you started playing. It certainly was nothing like that originally. Without the OP aim assist, the rapid movement would not work as a mechanic other than to dodge.
@proreborn There isn't one golden era, there are multiple. All depends on when you started playing. That is why whatever they do, some will like it and others hate it. Microsoft will stick to whatever they think will make money.
@ExoGhost@nahvgod The rapid erratic movement engages the aim assist, making it easier to hit your target if you don't actually try to aim. If you stay still and try to aim, you are less likely to hit. Remove the OP aim assist and see how it goes with that sort of movement.
@JamieMoranUK It never left for me. I still have an old PS3 to play it on, along with three guitars and drums (mike never left the wrapper). Gets brought out every now and then for a bit of nostalgia with friends.

@RDPHistory I expected to see a sniper or DMR paired with the gillie suit. Never seen someone wear that sort of gear and carry what looks like a GPMG.
Although the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was the old Battlefield games. Their PR department must have been fans.
