Islington, Hackney & Haringey have been shaped by migration. We support the progress that's been done for migrants & refugees, but urge for more humanity. Migrants are valued members of our community. Let's foster a narrative of unity and cohesion, not division.

@UnaOHalloran@BashOIbrahim@sarakhyde@Angelo__Weekes@JasonUJackson Cllr @JasonUJackson is formerly sworn in as Islington's first Black Mayor of Nigerian heritage! 🇳🇬🎉
This year, Cllr Jackson seeks to continue to champion youth engagement and mental health awareness during his mayoral year, supporting @isgiv as his chosen charity.
As a Borough of Sanctuary, we welcome the positive steps taken by this government like ending the Rwanda asylum plan, and extending move-on support for migrants and refugees. But we won't pander to divisive rhetoric. Islington Labour stands with all our residents.

This #InternationalWomensDay, we demand more than celebration — we demand action. ✊💜
Being born a woman should not be a barrier. Yet, from legal discrimination ⚖️ to economic inequality 💰, millions of women and girls face systemic exclusion every day.
It’s time to demand change — now. #HerRightsOurFuture 🚺🌍
NEW | Agency workers will now be included in the zero hours contracts ban.
We've campaigned for this for years.
Huge win for agency workers - and great news for ANYONE who cares about fighting insecure work.
BREAKING 🚨 | 34% of women are more likely to be on zero-hours contracts than men.
Women earn £10 per hour less than men when on zero-hours contracts.
BME women are 103% more likely, and disabled women are 49% more likely, to be on zero-hours contracts than white men.
The Employment Rights Bill will help secure gender equality and BAN zero-hours contracts.
As ever, women workers are bearing the brunt - everyone deserves security at work.
We have to both stand against the racism of the far right but also expose the likes of Farage and Robinson to their own supporters for the grifters they are.

On Wednesday we will be launching a new exhibition exploring Clerkenwell’s radical history through our archives joint with @PeelInstitute funded by @Aimuseums and @HeritageFundUK - a piece in @IslingtonTrib https://t.co/NRxkzAFnDv
