I have come to understand that prayer is much more than asking God for things.
Prayer is where you bring your thoughts, decisions, plans, fears and desires before God.
It gives you a place to pause before reacting, seek wisdom before deciding, and remember that you don’t have to figure everything out by yourself.
That’s why I believe prayer should have a place in our everyday routine.
Not because life is always difficult, but because we need God’s direction in every part of it.
After giving birth, a woman's internal wounds take six months to heal, 12 months for physical recovery, two years for hormonal balance, and up to five years to rediscover her identity. Relationships frequently fail during this time due to a lack of understanding. Be kind and patient with new mothers; they are facing more challenges than it appears.
I finally walked the stage and shook hands with the President of Florida International University, FIU President Jeanette Nunez.

Grateful for how far I’ve come and even more motivated for what lies ahead.
Whenever I have a misunderstanding with my husband that leads to me making a wrong decision or reacting improperly, at the end of our conversation he usually tells me something:
“Women don’t always think wide. You think straight. You don’t always check left and right to see the consequences before acting.”
What he means is that sometimes I may not pause to ask myself:
Will this cost me later?
Will I be able to defend this action?
Will I regret this?
Over time, that advice has helped me. It has taught me to think before I speak, think before I act, and consider the outcome of my decisions.
Interestingly, there have been moments when people could tell I was married just by the way I behaved.😅
One particular time was during a teachers’ meeting. A guest speaker was addressing us, and many colleagues were asking questions. I waited, listened carefully from beginning to end, and asked my question last.
The speaker looked at me and said, “You’re married.”
I laughed and asked him why he said that. After the meeting, he explained that the way I listened attentively and spoke calmly showed discipline and guidance.
That experience reminded me of something important: not everything you see requires a reaction. Not everything you hear requires a response. Sometimes wisdom is in listening more, observing more, and speaking only when necessary.
This story isn’t about silence. It’s about discernment.
Not everything deserves your voice.
Retired ICU nurse.
Coma? Yes. Brain dead? No. We have post partum type pads to tuck around there.
and On night shift we would bathe our patients. Comb their hair. I would talk to them. Tell them what I was doing even though they were unconscious. Rub their backs with lotion. Put my hand on their forehead and tell them we were here for them. Any body fluids were cleaned up with dignity and compassion.
I just remembered something.
In April 2025, one of my hairstylists told me she was getting married and wanted me in her bridal train. I told her I’m married to a traditional man o😂😂, so I would inform my husband first, not because he controls me, but because he deserves to be aware.
When I told him, he said no problem and asked if I needed anything. I said I’d let him know.
She added me to the WhatsApp group, fixed the wedding for September, and I bought the Asoebi for myself and my baby. I even sent it to my tailor early because I don’t like rush work.
Then in May, I lost my dad.💔
We fixed his burial for June, and the mourning started fully after that.
A few weeks to the September wedding, I reminded my husband again. That was when he said NO
I didn’t ask him why immediately. I’ve learned something in marriage, when your husband says no, you don’t start firing “why?” instantly. You allow things to settle. On a calm day, you can ask respectfully.
So I left it.
Few days later, he asked how much the bridal contribution was so he could send me the money. I told him not to bother that I'll sort it out. He insisted I send the account details.
On the wedding day, that night after church and everything, I finally asked him why he said I shouldn’t go.
You know what he said?
“You’re still mourning your dad. It’s not right for you to attend a wedding celebration.”
I just looked at him and smiled.
Imagine if I had argued that day he first said no, I might have created unnecessary chaos because of someone's wedding.
He actually saved me from potential embarrassment. Imagine me dancing, celebrating, posting videos while still officially mourning my father. People would talk, and it wouldn’t just be about me. It would reflect on him too.
Marriage has taught me wisdom.
When the man you chose to do forever with says no, sometimes you pause, not because you’re weak, but because you trust his leadership.
I’ve chosen to let him lead. And that’s it for me.
Who you marry is so important. I recently lost my mom, and while I have productive days, I have a lot of low ones too. I slept in this morning, and when I woke up my husband had cleaned the house, washed my clothes, organized both our closets, and scrubbed the bathrooms.
The weight he quietly lifts off of me every day feels like proof of just how much God loves me.
1. Your shoes should be darker than your trousers. It makes your outfit look balanced and put together.
2. Fit is more important than brand. A cheap shirt that fits your shoulders perfectly beats an expensive oversized one every time.
3. Your clothes should follow your shoulder line. If the top hangs off your shoulders, it instantly looks sloppy.
4. Match your metals. If you’re wearing a silver necklace, keep your watch and belt buckle silver too.
5. Stick to 2–3 colors in an outfit. Too many colors ruin the look.
6. Clean shoes >>> expensive shoes.
7. Your trousers should slightly “kiss” your shoes. If they're too long, they fold, if they're too short, it looks odd.
8. Grooming is part of fashion. Haircut, trimmed beard, clean nails. Clothes can’t save bad grooming.
9. Balance proportions. If your top is loose, keep the trousers slimmer. If trousers are wide, keep the top structured.
10. Accessories should complement your look, not fight for attention.
