@dr_know You are not a failed academic - but someone who has chosen another route, as many are doing. Your eloquent thread here is powerful and honest - and you are (IMO) doing exactly the right thing - for you, and for the people you will continue to influence and work with. Well done!
Spring clean day today 🫧
First poster from MPhil in 2017 seems very basic now
Takes me back to the challenges of grappling with new topic + field(s) + methodology 🥵
Very happy to be using what I've learned to support #KnowledgeMobilisation for the #JIGSAW programme 🤓
Challenges of getting evidence into healthcare policy and practice are increasingly prominent. In our open-access series on healthcare #ImprovementApproaches, @pmw777 and @RomanKislov critically explore theories and strategies of implementation science https://t.co/9jtdsgSw5W
@RomanKislov@pmw777 Great writing! I love the phrase "The challenge is not just to get evidence into practice, but also to get implementation science into practice." (probably because I agree with it)

Delighted to be a coauthor in this important paper about involving patients in research. Anyone doing research should read it! Written with @dr_know@RomanKislov@sardarl, Pat and Jackie who are not on Twitter
@IsabelAdeyemi @OfficialUoM Many congratulations. CLAHRC funding started it all off (so long ago) so great to see it all finished and awarded. Lovely to see the joy on everyone’s faces!
@LezzieLizzie @BBCHughPym Like many people she might not live near enough to do this, or want to have the responsibility. There is risk if the wrong drugs are put into the boxes
We were told they were stopping my mum’s because she has carers … regardless of whether the carers are permitted to administer from individual boxes … or whether mum has capacity to administer herself (which she doesn’t). Were told the NHS had stopped funding Boots to do this
@Gill_Livingston They just told the person who went to pick up last months blister pack that this was the last one. Some home care agencies will only administer from blister packs
@BBCHughPym@Gill_Livingston Not only for dementia patients is this an issue. My disabled mother who has home care support 4xday has also been told this. Found another pharmacy who will do it (independent one) but they are charging £15 a month …
