I love the snow.
This brought a couple of tears to my eyes.
When was the last time you went sledging?

As we have regular floods already in York, this really brought it home to me. We need serious adaptation measures. Trees throughout the river catchments, early warning systems and all new housing developments to be built to soak up and hold rainwater, not send it into the drains.

[Dave Throup @DaveThroup]

Inevitably there’s considerable interest in what impacts a Valencia type of rainfall event would have on the UK.

We really need more of a focus on Climate and Nature (to balance all this talk of growth and housing).

@h_ulbricht You never know when that client with the old SP server might call... 😉
(Still got mine).

@amorales866 @NotTheOneYouAre @AstaNaPaneOmws @LibertyCappy You quote the UK, but anyone in the UK who wants to pay for healthcare can pay and jump the queue. And the cost for that (I am told) is usually high, but much less than the United States.

[Ruth Jennaway @RuthGeek]

@DaveGoulson To be fair if these people read mainstream media, that's the constant diet of lies they have been fed for the last 2years. A constantly varied and repeated narrative works into the brain unless they are encouraged to ask Qs.
The only way is to talk about st. like NHS that'd ♥️

Fantastic to see Kevin McCloud supporting our crowd funder to save Severus Hill from being put up for Auction!
#SaveOurWildHill #Biodiversity #York

[Kevin McCloud @Kevin_McCloud]

The people of York have raised nearly £100,000 to save Severus Hill, a designated wildlife sanctuary in the heart of the city, from development. Such a fabulous expression from the community.

You can still donate. https://t.co/i3LqOtglvW

@danholme They historically have a deep distrust of credit.
"Why are you putting this on credit. Can you not afford to pay ?"
A very different cultural background to the USA and UK consumer debt-driven economy.

Great to see Power Automate versions and draft Flows rolling out - but be aware, this is just for *Flows within a Solution*
So you won't find it in the 'Power Auomate Free' Flows version that many customers start off with.

@DaveHatton16 @justiceformmiwg @RosieHollydnns @artdeco_fan @sferguk Sorry, I disagree. Many cats hunt because it is their instinct. Nothing to do with how much tinned /other cat food they are given.
If they do not have a collar and a bell, then many birds will be at risk from cats. Particularly if they are allowed out at dawn and dusk.

This attack on nature absolutely cannot be allowed to be waved through UK parliament. There is a biodiversity and climate crisis. We need more protection not less. Is one of these MPs yours? Please tweet them and tag @SteveBarclay .

[Guy Shrubsole @guyshrubsole]

REVEALED: 18 Tory MPs have written to Environment Secretary @SteveBarclay urging him to gut @NaturalEngland’s powers to create nature reserves (SSSIs)

This latest #AttackOnNature must not succeed

(Thanks to @jgmarshallwrite for obtaining the letter)

@TrappHerbert @mitchellsnik Wow, I have never met a cyclist who expressed those views!
Plenty of car drivers who have concreted over their gardens and seem to hate the 'messy leaves'

[Ruth Jennaway @RuthGeek]

@Otto_English It is useful to look back at history from the perspective of current, recent changes in the laws in UK.
Prison for peaceful protest eg. slowly walking down a road w/o prior police agreemt.
Or print out a seating plan for an aeroplane is classed as holding info of use in terrorism

@GeorgeMonbiot On a week when the government is proposing to increase & extend tax payer subsidies & funding for massive wood burning power stations like DRAX, this feels like small fry. MPs need to take urgent action. https://t.co/Iy5uoaySK7

Good to see our protest in York yesterday got the backing of Feargal Sharkey

[Feargal Sharkey @Feargal_Sharkey]

"‘Our park is covered in E. coli’ – Protesters vent anger at sewage in York rivers."

"Yorkshire Water is full of sh*t."

Have to say I'm having trouble disagreeing with any of that.

https://t.co/AMyrKYW4zU

[Ruth Jennaway @RuthGeek]

So many UK rivers are polluted with sewage. For much of my life we have been clawing our rivers back from industrial pollution. We even have otters and salmon returning. But those gains are being flushed away right now.
Criminal shame.😭

[The Press @yorkpress]

Dozens of protesters marched through the centre of York today calling for action against pollution in the River Ouse
