We damage the dignity of others when we refuse to wait for them – whether they need to tie their own shoes or they are struggling to find words for the indescribable. We bestow honor on another when we consider him or her worth waiting for.
Sometimes I think about those who knew Jesus firsthand—Mary, James, Peter, Martha, Lazarus, Peter—and I wonder, would they recognize Jesus in me? Would they see my life and say, “Yes. He knows the shepherd’s voice”?
If there was one thing I wish I could snap my fingers and help everyone understand in a foster child’s life, it’s that kiddos’ “scary” behaviors reflect more about their past than predict their future.
I’ll have better words later. Right now, I’m mourning. I’m holding my kids knowing exactly how we got here.
Those who have ears to hear, let them hear. Those who have eyes to see, let them see. And in the pursuit of God’s justice, may our hearts not harden. Amen. #ElPaso#Dayton
@mad_davenport that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Relentless overemphasis on biblical manhood and womanhood - the constant pounding - will inevitably, inadvertently cause us to attend more carefully to carrying our genders than carrying our crosses. Whether you’re male OR female, deny yourself, pick up your cross & follow Jesus.
I don’t know. I could be wrong about this. But I feel like as long as we are sane enough to ask God if we have lost our ever loving minds, we may be okay.
I don’t think I’ve seen this a lot on my timeline but in case it’s helpdil—they’re making an audio bible with only women’s voices.

There's always that little moment when my internet is acting weird where I am torn between panic that it isn't working, and hope that maybe it will never work again...
Privileged Christians often cannot tell the difference between:
Discomfort and trauma
Pushback and oppression
Inconvenience and tragedy
In such, we are often unable to effectively care for the marginalized and hurting because we don’t see ourselves appropriately
The only way to end up living a bold & brave life is to live a bold & brave day. So this very day:”Be strong & courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you… Do not be...discouraged.”
On Easter, I love to think of Mary Magdalene in those precious few morning hours between seeing the risen Jesus and telling the disciples. She was, for a brief, blessed era, the entirety of the Church in the whole world.
