amazing to think we likely won't see another simultaneous lent, chinese new year, ramadan and disgraced member of the british royal family being arrested in our lifetime
Every girl deserves a fair chance in sports. Developing a rapid, low-cost sex screening method can protect women’s categories and promote equality. Your support can make this vision a reality. Please share and consider donating to help fund this crucial research! https://t.co/OFgRxEcqsW
Glad you asked.
When men get called woman they get put in the “female” box, and it costs women everything we ever fought for. We lose fairness in sport, because suddenly a bloke can walk in, take the medals, the records, the scholarships, and everyone’s meant to clap like it’s progress. We lose the safety of our own spaces — refuges, changing rooms, hospital wards, prisons — all turned into mixed-sex free-for-alls just to keep men’s feelings warm.
We lose dignity, because apparently women aren’t allowed a single moment of privacy without a male body in the room. We lose accuracy in healthcare, because female biology suddenly has to take a back seat to someone’s identity drama. We lose political representation, because men now tick the “woman” box and take seats meant for women. We lose sex-based crime data, because male violence gets washed clean and relabelled as “female offending.”
We lose language — our words, our names for our bodies, our culture — all replaced with creepy pseudo-medical nonsense to avoid hurting men’s egos. We lose the ability to tell the truth about anything: periods, birth, menopause, breastfeeding, lesbianism — everything has to be rewritten to centre men.
We lose single-sex education, religious female-only spaces, and community groups, because apparently every boundary women draw is an act of oppression. We lose funding for women’s organisations unless we agree to pretend men are women. And lesbians? We lose our entire orientation if we don’t perform obedience on command.
We lose safety from male offenders in prison, because their feelings outrank women’s bones. We lose the right to speak openly about male violence without being branded hateful. We lose job protections, because men now qualify for initiatives built to counter sexism against women.
And the biggest loss?
We lose the meaning of the word “woman” — the one political category that exists for a reason: because female people are oppressed as female people. If that category goes, our rights go. Our safety goes. Our history goes. Our future goes.
All because men demanded access to absolutely everything women have, right down to our name.
@ucu As a female, biologist, UCU member I am delighted with the Supreme Court decision regarding sex-based rights. Please do not demonstrate against the decision on my behalf #WomensRights
A compassionate, empathetic person doesn't look at rape victims having single-sex spaces or lesbians having female-only gatherings and think "what a bunch of evil cows. I'll just make sure everyone knows my sympathy is with the males they're excluding"
Have to say I'm finding ostentatious calls for compassion and empathy for those so terribly injured by female humans merely being allowed to exist in law tactless, sexist and insensitive.
Press Statement – For Women Scotland
Today, the Supreme Court has confirmed what women across the country already knew. Sex matters.
This is a landmark victory, not just for For Women Scotland, but for every woman who has been told to sit down, shut up, and make way.
The Court has recognised that women's rights must be based on biological sex, not on self-declared identity.
This ruling restores legal clarity and reaffirms the purpose of the protections written into the Equality Act.
This win protects all women, including trans-identifying females, by ensuring maternity rights, women-only spaces, and female-focused services are grounded in reality.
It puts a clear boundary around what it means to be female in law and pushes back against a men’s rights movement that has tried to colonise womanhood.
We thank the brave women who fought this case and the thousands who stood behind them. This is your victory. But the fight isn’t over. We will keep pushing until sex-based rights are not only protected—but respected.

@RozWatkins Are you on someone's list to get repaired? Hope it doesn't rain for you. We have just had our driveway re-paved so desperate for rain to clear all the dust from the garden but Manchester is being unseasonably dry
