Raw kicks off with Mr. McMahon announcing that Shawn Michaels will be out of action following The Spirit Squad's brutal attack on his leg last week. Vince announces that Triple H will face Kenny later tonight, then he announces that he has hired a new executive assistant for Raw: Jonathan Coachman! Coach has some announcements of his own. First, WWE Champion John Cena will face an opponent he's never faced before. Also, Edge and Big Show will battle in a number one contenders match, with the winner earning a WWE Championship match at Raw's next Pay-Per-View, Vengeance!
Shelton Benjamin vs Kane for the Intercontinental Championship goes to a no contest after Kane encounters a mirror image of his past self. This Masked Kane enters the arena to Kane's old music and attire, then Chokeslams the Unmasked Kane! Raw has now become The Twilight Zone!
Triple H defeats Kenny (W/The Spirit Squad) in a SpiritJack match. After the match, The Spirit Squad attacks HHH and attempts to put him out of commission the same way they took out Shawn Michaels. Fortunately for The Game, he has a backup sledgehammer, which helps him take down The Squad. Mr. McMahon appears and announces a new challenge for HHH for next week's Raw: he must join the "kiss my ass" club. Raw goes off the air with Vince acting goofy and HHH fuming!
Edge defeats Big Show after an assist from Lita. Edge is now the number one contender to the WWE Championship, and will meet the Champion next month at Vengeance!
Mick Foley and Paul Heyman engage in a war of words. At ECW One Night Stand, Foley will team with his co holder of the Hardcore Championship, Edge, to face ECW's Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk! Heyman drops a bombshell by announcing that Vince has given him 2 draft picks for the new ECW, one pick from Raw and one from SmackDown. His first pick from Raw is Mr. Money In The Bank, Rob Van Dam, which was easily guessed by Foley, but his second pick from SmackDown is a major shocker... Kurt Angle! Heyman announces that Angle is here tonight on Raw and he wastes no time in heading to the ring and attacking Foley!
John Cena defeats Johnny Nitro (W/Melina) by Submission! After the match, RVD and Cena have a staredown where they hold up the Money In The Bank briefcase and the WWE Championship respectively. Nitro tries sneak attacking Cena, but The Champ dodges it and Nitro bumps into RVD. ECW One Night Stand is really heating up!
