This is what crypto was supposed to be. Creators funding real projects, supported by real communities.

I'm a Russian-Jewish immigrant. My family fled the Soviet Union before its collapse in '91 to escape antisemitism. We came to America for a fresh start.
Now I'm watching antisemitism surge again. On campuses, in the streets, online. It's personal.
$RUZER is the vehicle to fund this documentary. Every buy supports independent filmmaking that's trying to bridge one of the most divisive conflicts of our time.
1// gm. i built a token launchpad on @base. it’s called ratchet.
the idea is to simplify it all and give creators a way to launch tokens where they can earn without having to dump on their community.

My next guest is filmmaker and executive producer
Joseph Ruzer. He’s produced and directed for some of TV’s biggest shows, Love After Lockup, Inmate to Roommate, and Flavor of Love, and written and directed his own films The Squatter, Bodega, and Scarf Face.
His new documentary How Did We Get Here is a raw, on-the-ground look at the war Israel/Palestine conflict, capturing both Israeli and Palestinian voices, and searching for truth in a world built on division.
Today, as Israel and Palestine announce a ceasefire and the first hostages are being released, this conversation feels even more powerful.
Two of the brothers featured in Joseph’s film, Ziv and Gali Berman, are among the 20 hostages being released alive today.
We talk about:
– The making of How Did We Get Here
– Growing up between Russia and America
– The mental toll of Hollywood and creative survival
– Decentralization, free speech, and art in the age of AI
– And why empathy is the only path forward
On a personal note, I have a ton of respect for Joseph as he is one of the hardest working and most talented people I know and it is an absolute honor to call him a friend. This conversation was one of the most eye-opening and meaningful I’ve ever had on this podcast. I ask that you please listen with an open mind and empathy, and remember that without dialogue, there is only war.

my next guest is filmmaker and photographer @Julie_Pacino - an artist who blurs the line between cinema and self-reflection. her new film “i live here now” is raw, surreal, and deeply personal, a story about confronting trauma, identity, and reclaiming power.
we talk about:
– shooting her debut feature entirely on 35mm + 16mm film – generational trauma and how art becomes therapy – the loneliness of creation and the death of ego – authenticity in art and navigating a male-dominated industry – how NFTs helped her reconnect with creative community
this one goes deep. it’s one of my favorite conversations yet.
