It is important to regularly remove weeds in your potato fields because they can compete with the potato plants for light, water, and nutrients. Weeds may act as hosts for pests and also affect the potato harvest because they decrease the yield and quality of the potatoes.

Following a 2-day Linking and Learning for Partnerships event organized by RVO and TRAIDE Foundation, it was a delight to share our experience and lessons. This was yet an opportunity to showcase to guests organizations from all over Africa the impact of our project activities.

I've been saving money ever since, I just paid the lease on the land and I am excited to start growing potatoes.
We are happy to see youth involvement in Agriculture and we support it.”
Meet Norbert Ndagano, a 26 years old phone repairer who just started his journey into farming.
“I met the field agronomist Emmanuel of @spf_ikigega when I was repairing his phone. He introduced me to the SDGP demo and study group, when I learned modern way of growing potatoes.”
Soil testing is one of the key activities we complete before the start of the season. The most crucial procedure in #modernagriculture is #soiltesting, which determines the amount of manure and fertilizer to apply based on the results of the test and the crop being grown.
