Nijighà (Walking): In Navajo, walking is life’s journey, traveling and livelihood. Life’s journey is like a dress and through life’s experiences we present ourselves in clothes. The profound wisdom embedded in Navajo culture was the reason why I sought after an IHS residency(1/3)
(2/3) my desire to learn & serve the natives of our country was so strong I narrowed my chances of a PGY-1 residency by not applying to ASHP but only to IHS. Scary but it worked out. As I officially begin my first day of residency, I can’t help but ponder on this Navajo saying.
This summer has been one full of peaks and valleys but It's finally happening! Day 1 of Residency starts tomorrow 8/2. The support from @PharmGradWish & strangers got me through the fire and more. Your kindness will be with me as I embark on this new chapter of service & learning
Phew!!! UPDATE: Your boy PASSED the NAPLEX. The past week has been a roller coaster of emotions and a true test of character, resilience with so many life lessons such as always getting rental Insurance. I am able to bounce back on my feet due to the generosity of complete (1/2)
Strangers.I have found a place to sublet for the month as I get ready for residency and I am more than excited for a fresh start in my new home state of New Mexico. The fire is behind me and I look forward to passing on the kindness and empathy you all have shown me (2/2)
I had a plan. Study, get the NAPLEX over with and send out big fat thank you notes to all the generous individuals who contributes to my @PharmGradWish but as they say man plans God laughs. I saved all your notes that came with the gifts with the intention to reply to y’all (1/2)
But unfortunately I lost my apartment to a fire earlier today, including the notes that came with the gifts. I would like to reach out to everyone who supported my PGY-1 move and say thank you — I am deeply grateful.
