@pizzapat246@Reidms88 Yes, throughout his entire ownership of Olympiacos, Forest, and Rio Ave, he has had no outside investment. He comes across as someone who wouldn’t want anyone else involved in his clubs. He’s a lot smarter than people think. Time will tell.
Right, I generally keep my opinions to myself but this whole situation with Forest is frustrating. Mainly because so many uneducated so-called football “experts” and “fans” haven’t got a clue. Let me break it down so everyone can understand. #nffc#cpfc#thfc
@ramsey6306 Palace might not be part of an MCO, but your biggest shareholder was involved in multiple clubs. If the law wasn't meant for Palace, why have you been punished for breaking said law by UEFA?
@HLTCO@TheEaglesNest25 I agree the laws could be clearer, but other clubs did their due diligence and put shares into blind trusts. Do you think you'll be successful in your appeal?
@TheEaglesNest25@HLTCO I get what you're saying to an extent but it still ran the risk. Whether Palace are in a MCM or not, John Textor is. I responded to something similar yesterday. https://t.co/pimEdcHyQh
@AOzborne I agree, but I believe any club owner who is involved in multiple teams under UEFA should stay ahead of this, just in case. The multi-club model isn’t new, and surprises can happen. Better to be prepared.
@HLTCO@TheEaglesNest25 That makes sense, but if thats the way the laws have been written, why didnt the palace board do something sooner? Im not "anti-palace" you earned the right to play in the Europa League. Im just tired of seeing the same stuff repeated.
@TheEaglesNest25@HLTCO UEFA rules prohibits a person/entity from having “control or influence” over more than one club in the same European competition.
Even without majority ownership, a board vote = influence.
@pizzapat246 How is that influence? Are Forest being forced to sign these players? We were linked with them long before any of this started. Forest and Olympiacos are run far better than Lyon and Botafogo. Marinakis isn’t a fool.
@PDachio For me, you let him go if that’s what he wants. I understand the frustrations, he’s one of our best players and not easy to replace. But there’s no point in keeping players who want to move on.
@pizzapat246 Not at the moment, no. JT currently has no influence at Forest. While the clubs may be cooperating on transfers, I believe that’s where it ends. As unpredictable as Marinakis can be, he’s not stupid.
@CoysPeter Also, Do you really think the Spurs board read the Telegraph and said, “Great deal, let’s bid exactly that”? Doubt it. I wouldn’t take everything in the press at face value.
@CoysPeter Regardless of who brought it up first, my point still stands, how did they find out when only three parties knew? A confidentiality clause has clearly been broken somewhere, and it wasn’t Forest. Things leak to the press all the time.
