Eagles vs. Chiefs: Strengths and Weaknesses
The Chiefs have five good players and then after that it is a roster that isn’t that deep or dangerous.
Instead the Chiefs have become a roster that is mostly held together by three people that are arguably the best to ever do what they do — Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Steve Spagnuolo.
The Chiefs do have a few other great players (Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, Trent McDuffie and Creed Humphrey), but the roster isnt even comparable to the talent the Eagles have. At this point they win because of great coaching on offense, great coaching on defense and Mahomes making enough special plays to win close games.
Their offensive line isn’t that good. Their defensive line has two great players. Their secondary has one great player. They don’t really have any great skill players, although Travis Kelce can still occasionally make a big play. It really is Mahomes, Reid and Spagnuolo that keep this team winning as much as they do.
The biggest threat to the Eagles in this game is off the field.
The Chiefs need to win this game. The Eagles do not.
It might just be that simple heading into Sunday, as the Eagles go up against arguably the best QB/HC duo ever in a must-win situation in their home opener coming off of a loss. The Chiefs almost never lose in this situation. That doesn’t mean they won’t, but it does mean it is a harder task for the Eagles than the Chiefs actual roster presents. Sometimes the spot of a game on the schedule and which team needs it more matters more than the actual teams playing in it. The Eagles are walking into a really tough spot on Sunday.
It is a winnable game, but it is definitely much tougher than the talent on the Chiefs roster should make it
We watched the Eagles go to 5 Conference Championship games in the 2000's and everyone called us losers and told us to win but we supposed clap our hands and be proud when other teams do it once or twice. Nah this shit personal
