@YesWeCrann Tempers any excitement in new ownership, the difference in distribution rights is around £9m between champ and league 1 so what they save they lose out with extra season in league 1 as unlikely to get promoted starting -15

@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths Networks pay a licensing fee to the promoter, its well known PBC were losing lots of money on these shows due to the contracts they guaranteed when the investment company put in loads of money. That’s why they got paid well
@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths As you have just said he gets 80% of the profit, not the gross income. The guarantee is a cost, the network percentage is a cost so all get deducted before the profit percentage
@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths Sponsorship for the actual fight will be pretty low as they pay for estimated views so at 550k views for a sponsor that’s tiny - Canelo will have his own personal sponsors that pay him to be the face of the company but that’s nothing to do with the fight income
@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths $50m PPV
$17m Gate
Total $67m
Less 35% PPV to Network $17.5m
Less $35m Guarantee
Leaves $14.5
Canelo 80% of $14.5m would be $11.5m in additional income
@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths What you are saying is correct if there’s no guarantee involved but you are adding the guarantee onto the total income which isn’t how it works. The guarantee gets taken out of the equation before any further income % is given.
@BoxingMyths @tht_guy_deenoe Yep that’s correct, otherwise promoters would go bust on every Canelo fight as they would be on the hook to pay tens of millions each fight
@tht_guy_deenoe @BoxingMyths I don’t think you understand how the guarantee works. They don’t share the full PPV sales and pay the guarantee, they share the upside of the PPV sales once the 35m has been met. If it doesn’t get met then the guarantor (promoter usually) has to pay the difference
@BoxingMyths @tht_guy_deenoe The way he has done the income is not how it works when a guarantee is involved, he doesn’t get a split of the ppv and the guarantee he shares the upside once the 35 million has been met. So if it makes less than 35 million the promoter has to guarantee the difference
@CJSBSB@GClarks94@LangdalePete@BBCNews She declares her income as salary so pays a shed load of tax, probably the least tax efficient way of paying herself
@ChampChaz02@LawrenceMackay3 It’s on both sites, under To Be Classified rather than not to finish - will be classified if completes 90% of race distance even if doesn’t finish the race though. 4/1 for Sainz
@JaimeJames90 If Warren / QP are tied in with Riyadh and AJ is involved then you would imagine BT PPV and DAZN get rest of the world rights but interesting situations regardless
@ploehmann @GoalShort@KieranMaguire Interesting, didn’t realise it was upfront which is worrying bearing in mind we have also had season ticket money in too. Let’s hope he’s just on the wind up as there doesn’t seem to be a queue of people knocking on the door for a takeover
@GoalShort @ploehmann @KieranMaguire Also a lot of the tv money is paid quarterly I believe so could be a case of bills due before cash incoming but a lot could be down to cash flow where DC has put money in previously to cover short fall and takes back later and now won’t or can’t do that
@GoalShort @ploehmann @KieranMaguire Hard to decipher as he messes about changing year ends and delayed accounts mean these financials are only upto July 22, so won’t get next ones until end of Q1 next year and who knows what they will look like
