@That_GuyMike @HylianH3ro @JayKay1sMyName It's not about reusing assets, its about reusing the same levels over and over and over again and then having the audacity to also recycle level design. It's a lazy and extremely low budget approach
@zwafflezV4@pCmK_11@Hello_Emerald Judging based on Forces dev team which is the most recent, obviously possible there was a restructure but I don't see anything to prove that and Sega was happy with how Forces preformed so there wouldn't be any internal reason to do that
@zwafflezV4@pCmK_11@Hello_Emerald It's most likely a cost cutting measure rather than being designed as a "throwback" or being there for any lore purpose. Sega probably has an internal mandate for bringing back at least GHZ and Chemical Plant in every Sonic game, but copying stage layouts is a bit beyond that.
@zwafflezV4@pCmK_11@Hello_Emerald The game is designed at a small budget, so that means a very small level design team. Likely to save on time and costs, levels were ported over from previous games when possible, perhaps changed a little bit in some aspects and with a different theme so its not obvious.
@zwafflezV4@pCmK_11@Hello_Emerald What exactly is stopping them from dragging and dropping mostly binary level design information into a very similar engine with firsthand knowledge of how the file format structure is? Game development is not as magical as you think it is, there is a rudimentary structure.
@dankopus @Hello_Emerald I keep seeing this argument over and over again like its somehow a difficult thing to port level design over to a new engine when it's really not when even fans do it all the time, let alone Sega which has docs on their file formats and engine structures.
@dankopus @Hello_Emerald Havok is a physics engine, it has no correlation to the levels. Unleashed uses Hedgehog Engine, regardless if it didn't, the levels and their data are likely stored in binary files that can be read by any engine including Unity or Unreal Engine if you know the format's details.
@TheDudeGuy22@_temmi@oneofmanyryans@mikesterp1 Its called a game demo, not a tech demo. A tech demo would be something like Half-Life 2 at E3 2003 focusing on showing physics, graphics, and overall tech of new game/engine. Sonic Frontiers Gamescom demo is representative of the final game. https://t.co/pOSv030VQs
@lunseisleidee OpenAI generally does not cherry pick, Dall-E 2's generation capability is strictly based on how good your prompts are. Its weaknesses mostly lie in things such as generating human faces in a realistic style, there have been live videos showing generation as well.
@Tristanshouts@HughDalton20@Laurie_Garrett@NYCMayor Cloth/surgical mask mandates originate from the idea that the viruses primary form of spread is via droplets rather than aerosol, which has been proven to be false despite the CDC/WHO taking nearly two years to say so. Masks without tight fit don't do anything to stop air.
@Tristanshouts@HughDalton20@Laurie_Garrett@NYCMayor The issue with such studies is that they don't take into account outside variables, such as if there is a mask mandate, there are likely also mandates regarding social distancing and ventilation. More studies definitely needed to prove effectiveness of cloth/surgical masks.
@KwikJraw@seltzi_boi@DaysonRick@ChrisDaniels5@KING5Seattle The context was wearing masks forever, to which you said that east asian countries have done for 70+ years, which is just not true. People in china wore masks especially before SARS due to pollution, Japan for multiple reasons. Not mandated to be worn, no one says ban masks.
