@0Mclovin@JJ_McCullough You're speaking ideologically. Just because American media is "consumerist" and you don't like that, that doesn't mean it isn't part of Canadian life. Canada and the US are, relatively speaking, incredibly similar in education, language, religion, humour, work culture & homelife
@0Mclovin@JJ_McCullough The fact is if you took 1000 random people from Ontario and 1000 random people from New York State, these people would on average have infinitely closer lifestyles and day to day existences than they would to 1000 randoms from Italy, Portugal, Romania etc.

Joke with their co-workers with American style humour in their American esque accents, eat at American chains for lunch, go home and watch American TV series etc
