🧵 Two weeks ago, I heard concerns that Salt Lake County Councilwoman Natalie Pinkney had overspent her budget on travel, so I filed a GRAMA request for the records. What I received was worse than I expected.
Dear New Jersey ICE Protestors:
The Democrat Party has organized all of this so one or more of you get killed. They want martyrs with better optics than the lady who tried to murder an ICE agent with her truck.
Fair warning. You are their useful idiots.
Toodles,
CP
If you claim to be a "principled conservative" and your "principles" mean constantly handing political power on a silver platter to the left without ever asking them to compromise even a little ever, then your "principles" mean absolutely nothing.
@LDS_Dems Far leftist religious people have to completely break themselves and then frankenstein themselves back together again to make their two competing religions
“fit” together. Their worldview stumbles around just as ungainly as the monster
@TheDudeWisdom@mattvanswol@davidhogg111 The reply isn’t for the npc. Sure they know what they are doing. The reply is because they need to be pushed back on. There needs to be truth for the third party viewing the post. It is not good for the radical left to have the only say.
@austinfgreen@TheJTShow2024 Democrats are irrelevant? Utah was one of the few states to move left in the last election. They just got a dem rigged district. SL CO is deep blue. Most RINOs are really democrats. I doubt like they feel like they are irrelevant in Utah.
On a serious note, and giving full credit to Governor Cox for what it seems he is trying to convey here, there are absolutely subversive groups who, whether nationally or right here in Utah, try to stop everything. It is frustrating, to say the least.
But, Governor, you have built the machine that facilitates this subversion. You have created a culture of top-down administration and backroom deals. You have overseen the proliferation of bad legislation crafted by entities like the Unified Economic Opportunity Commission—a commission you created to empower the executive branch to craft legislation. And it is not just used to craft legislation, like the slew of bills to centralize control of water in Utah, but to act as a heavy hand. You ensure that anyone who opposes that legislation, or even dares to suggest the executive branch leave lawmaking to the legislature, will be harshly dealt with.
Anyone who wants to do business in Utah understands that you start at the top, not at the bottom. Once you have the approval of the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House, the Governor, and his Office of Economic Opportunity, the deal is as good as done.
The same could be said of the judicial system, where all appointees seem to owe some fealty to you. You know it, they know it, and it is demonstrated in the way they pass down bogus rulings in favor of the state and against the people.
Now, you want to stand up and speak as if you are the entrepreneur who is tired of being stalled by that very machine. When I hear this, I wonder, "Who is 'we'?" It could mean "we the people," but it is coming from the person who has cut so many deals with environmentalists and judges; who has fostered close relationships with Equality Utah, Alliance for a Better Utah, the Sierra Club, and the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance; who literally made DEI Utah's top priority; and who created Nomi Health, then funded it through no-bid contracts.
For so many of us who simply wanted to help Utah be better - who started businesses, ran for school board, city council, or other offices; who volunteer our time and money to good causes; who boldly defy the world by having kids and raising them to be productive, honest, kind humans—your words do not match your actions.
For those of us who were forced to wear a mask, close our businesses, close our churches, and who were shamed for not taking a fake vaccine, we just aren't buying it.
Maybe let Kevin O'Leary be the spokesperson for the STRATOS data center. Let him talk about how much money he is going to invest and let him sell the project. When you do it, it feels like we are being lied to.
@Josiahnd3@LukeFHan Oh ok, I get it. You’re completely up your own ass about how “learned” you think you are, even though you don’t understand the most basic tenet of the religion you profess, and you are depending on intimidating your way out of this by throwing big words out.
I’m not impressed.
@LukeFHan Your evasive, ambiguous communication style comes across as weakness. Almost like you’re always needing to hedge, planting retreats/escapes to performatively look like you’re meaningfully engaging.
But you’re not.
I made a direct assertion.
You clowned around w/ words.
