In 2012, two things made life extra enjoyable:
The 2012 Oakland A’s, who led the division on only one day: Game 162. I saw
Twitter, where fans, Susan Slusser, and Jane Lee all tweeted about it together
It was heaven. And in 2023, two billionaires have wrecked em both
See you.
Can’t help but remember a similar game 162 by the Oakland .@Athletics eleven seasons ago in 2012, leading the division on exactly one day: the only one that counts, game 162. Sorry Rangers, then and now
Does anybody have experience helping a group of 30 students identify smaller subgroups where grouping by common interest would be helpful?
Running introductions and then letting “the market” work is appealing & simple
Like a genius, I started measuring entropy in survey answers
Two A’s fans and connoisseurs of the great teams of the 2010’s describe their affinity for the team and how they’ve banned A’s management from their Tahoe coffee shop. Bravo!

@pavgup Berkeley's Anthony Suen mentioned you to me. I'm teaching masters students at UCSF SON, usually use data science pedagogy at Berkeley, and was thinking about bridging the two in a gentle way. Do you have thoughts about any UCSF units' data science infrastructure?
@AsFanByDesign@MichelleyM It was, only up through August 2012 it was still pretty touch and go at times; and even when it actually was over, like in September, Cookie still managed to create high drama most every time and then Houdini out of it
@MavwreckTweet@garius That’s right; Thiel appears to think that basic economic theory taken to an extreme must also be correct in the empirical world
I call this “dogmatic economics”
I feel so bad for everyone westbound o the Richmond Bridge to San Rafael. Yesterday huge shutdown due to a mental health crisis, today Sigalert is showing a crash and right lane blocked westbound, delays up to an hour. Ugh
