From the poetry of al-Imām al-Nawawī:

These couplets were written by al-Imām al-Nawawī رحمه الله before he passed away, later found by his student Ibn al-ʿAṭṭār رحمه الله.

The Hanafis have always been either been Maturidis (essentially just Hanafis from a creedal perpsective) or ‘Ashari

There is a misconception with regards to the chains of transmission for Sūfī Turuq and what they entail

These chains are not transmitting a secret knowledge, nor anything additional to Islam

They are simply chains that demonstrate their history of Tarbiyah up to the Prophet ﷺ

@AleMartnezR1 The standard orthodox position is metaphorical, what you seem to be referring to is a fringe sect of modern day anthorpmorphists who are commonly found in online polemical circles. However they do not represent the standard view
