Our friend. Our brother. Our teammate.
We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Dametrius Walker. Meechie was an inspiration to every member of our program and the Michigan family as a whole. He will be missed by so many.

I’m excited to welcome @POTUS to West Michigan and proud he will visit the @pfizer facility today. The hardworking men and women at this facility are doing phenomenal work, leading the way to manufacture #COVID19 vaccines.
I'm proud to have worked w/ my colleagues to secure federal resources on vaccine distribution, food assistance & support to educators. The state legislature needs to stop withholding these resources & get them out the door.
We need to work together to get through this pandemic.
Finally will be able to hand out the consistent four score drubbings of Sparty that the universe is too cruel to provide me in real life, @zadealsawah#GoBlue

As communities in Michigan & across the U.S. celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor the generations of African American leaders who’ve helped shape our national story.
Their remarkable achievements will always provide an example as we work to build a more inclusive society.
Congratulations, President Biden and Vice President Harris! Now, let’s get to work to tackle the unprecedented challenges before us and Build Back Better.
The acts of violence at our Capitol are a stain on our nation’s history. I am committed to working on a bipartisan basis to ensure it NEVER happens again.
I’m saddened to learn about the death of a US Capitol police officer following Wednesday’s attack. My heart goes out to the officer’s family and the law enforcement who worked to serve and protect members of Congress not only this week but every day.
Wednesday’s dangerous and unacceptable attack on our Capitol marked one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. These events went against the very values upon which our country was founded.
I am safe, sheltering in a secure location and will continue to follow the guidance of the Capitol Police.
Today’s attacks on the Capitol are dangerous, unacceptable and an attack on our democracy—and must stop.
On #VeteransDay, we remember & honor our brave servicemembers in Michigan across generations who answered the call of duty. I’m forever grateful to all our veterans & their families. I'll keep working to ensure they can access the benefits, health care & support they have earned.
