@derek_larger I couldn’t agree more on the turnovers! You can’t win against a number 1 seed on the road with 5 turnovers! They were lucky to even make it to OT
@derek_larger I haven’t found any angles that you can tell decisively which I why I’m surprised they ruled in the defenses favor! Seems like this type of thing happens to the Bills in the playoffs every year! Controversy or a loss by one play!
The biggest question is whether he bobbled the ball once he hit the ground or did the DB yank it out afterwards! If DB yanked it out once he hit the ground, it’s a catch every day! If he bobbles it when he hit the ground, it’s a pick! I’m a Colts fan so i have no dog in this lol!
Whether the ground causes the loss of control, or the defender does, it doesn't matter. He didn't go through the entire process of the catch, that's the point. Yeah, he has control of it and it would've been a catch had he stopped rolling on the ground with control, but he didn't
@derek_larger He legit has two hands on the ball, clutching it until he hits the ground and loses control! If ground causes loss of control, how is it not a catch! If your argument is both players had hands on it, 50/50 balls go to the offense! It’s crazy to be ruled an INT!
@Ab_Soulutely I agree 100%! That’s why I said it was on him! Gotta make a decision and roll with it! Ultimately it didn’t cost us and lesson learned! He just picked up the first! Go Colts!
@Ab_Soulutely If he fair catches, he catches and we’re not having this conversation! Why are you that close with no intention of trying to catch the ball?
@Ab_Soulutely He was inches from the ball! He made a late call to let it go and it cost him because he was indecisive! I love Josh Downs like everyone else but it was absolutely on him! A bad bounce is when it hits the guy blocking, not the returner inches away who tries to back away late
Yeah, Anthony Richardson may be 23 years old, two years removed from being the 4th overall pick with more pass attempts in college than the NFL
But when you have a 28 year old on his third team with this resume, you have to start him!
Just following up on this now that I have the actual numbers.
2nd and 3rd down sneaks (2022-2024):
- 60/62 on 3rd down (97%)
- 122/132 combined (92.4%)
Which means we turned the ball over on downs 2 times out of 132 tries.
Pretty efficient.
