“Those who are conscientious objectors to vaccination should, of course, have the courage to face all penalties or persecutions to which they may be subjected by law, and stand alone, if need be, against the whole world, in defence of their conviction.
@dzoolander85 Even without evaluating these points, the massive inflation rates observed under Trudeau’s leadership are essentially a tax on the poor and retired. 8 years in, he can’t be given a free pass on that.
@KonstantinKisin@BretWeinstein@JesslovesMJK It is worth noting that people with healthy *lifestyles* are not all of those that rate high on general health indicators. It turns out wealth is a better predictor of “health”. And wealthy individuals tended to get vaccinated in bigger numbers. HealthyUserBias = WealthyUserBias
@BretWeinstein@JesslovesMJK Healthy User Bias
@EduEngineer has written a great series on this. Bret is correct, and the data support that position, despite what intuition might suggest.
@Limbictweets Trudeau is imagining a level of hatred that doesn’t exist nearly to the extent claimed, then using that imaginary hatred for his political gain. Or trying to, anyways. I’m not confident it’s working.
@theJagmeetSingh From THIS article... "There hasn’t been much evidence of [grocery stores] abusing their power in the market to drive up food prices in the last two years... They've been able to prevent their profits from coming down, but I haven't seen a lot of exploitative size numbers." 🤔
@PierrePoilievre “Interest rates are at historic lows” might be the worst imaginable response to that line of questioning. It betrays that he doesn’t understand how debt works.
@QasimRashid That biblical passage is worth thinking about, but you are ignoring other key elements. For example, US borrowing from other nations would not be in keeping with Deut guidance. Maybe we shouldn’t be doing that either… but don’t pick and choose. It won’t get us anywhere.
@Inquiry_Canada "As a young person looking back at the last three years, I would certainly be disinclined to trust experts or politicians again in my life."
For Liberals/NDP, full organizational upheavals would not restore trust in those organizations anytime soon, in the eyes of MANY Canadians.
@theJagmeetSingh For 2022, Loblaws had $1.99b earnings on $56b of revenue [2021: $1.98b earnings on $53b]. Empire Company (Sobeys) had $746m earnings on $30b of revenue in 2022.
Canada federal debt went up by $500b during COVID.
