Anytime I talk about this franchise I have the same conversation. They were absolutely gearing up to create a modern day AC with Desmond using all he’d learned throughout the series. Only to deliver us with the gut punch that was AC 3. They chose profit over substance.

What sucks about the Assassins Creed franchise is that I always felt like the story was leading us to a finale where we'd play as Desmond in modern day.
