Bitcoin update
An Indiana butcher is keeping the Bitcoin its customers spend.
Our view
This is a constructive example of merchant adoption moving beyond payment acceptance into holding BTC.
According to Bitcoin Magazine, Old Major Market, an Indianapolis meat business shipping to the lower 48 US states, now retains 100% of incoming Bitcoin payments. Previously, it converted those payments straight into cash.
The important change is its retention policy. The 48-state figure describes its delivery reach, not 48 separate business locations.
What this means for us as traders
Keeping those receipts removes the business’s immediate conversion sale. It does not automatically establish fresh buying on an exchange: customers may be spending Bitcoin they already own.
The market significance depends on payment volumes, how long businesses retain BTC and whether this behaviour spreads.
We see this as encouraging adoption evidence. One merchant’s decision, without disclosed volumes, is insufficient to change our near-term trading outlook.
What would change our view
Growing repeat payments and sustained BTC accumulation across more businesses would strengthen the case. Low usage or a return to immediate conversion would weaken it.

@MartinTGeorge How important is the 50 period EMA and why the ema and not sma? The levels you look at I never think to, how do you understand a chart like that Martin ?
One year ago today, Bitcoin reached its all-time high of approximately $126,200.
When do you think we’ll see that price again? Are the conditions already in place, or does something need to change?
