Tennessee's Hands Free law prohibits drivers from holding cell phones while operating a vehicle. This includes talking, texting, or using apps. Violations can result in fines and points on a driving record, with increased penalties for repeat offenses.

@NashvilleDOT@JacobKupin4D19 Almost hit yet again this morning since no one could see around the Coors truck. We need permanent posts expanding the sightlines by pushing parking further out.
@NashvilleDOT@JacobKupin4D19 Seigenthaler ramp pitch means that cyclists are coming into this blindness at 20 mph, with no sightlines and nothing slowing cars down. This needs to be a raised crossing with restrictions on 18 wheelers. When I crossed, I got screamed at. Not fun.
@JacobKupin4D19@NashvilleDOT Since there was zero effort made in keeping drivers out of this lane, there is zero compliance from drivers. That won't change until the design changes.

@russvought This is @RussVought — the man who told Trump to freeze veteran, health, childcare, and domestic violence survivor benefits today.
You can call him at (202) 395-3080.
@NashvilleDOT Almost got to see a young lady killed instantly by a pickup driver at Demonbreun and 7th because there is nothing in the road design preventing him from doing 50 mph in the city. Not sure how to make it a HUB request, but please fix this so it's not a racetrack.
I can't be any more serious, if you live in an area of the US prone to natural disasters it is almost certainly built for car sprawl and you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ESCAPE IN A CAR.
Buy an e-bike with hauling capacity for most prized possessions, keep it charged. I'm not kidding.
Yes the cold is tough, but what's worse as a bike commuter is having to take so much time reporting violent drivers (including some disgusting behavior from @WeGoTransit #28-which I often ride, how's that for irony-at 7:30 this morning). Just exhausting stuff.
@mbhaskell Took me a while to come around, but it was the right call for me. Commuted for 10 years, didn't really get major fitness improvements, then tried this and can read an ebook and stay out of the constant road rage, and can target the right effort instead of pedaling to the terrain.
First commute of 2025, I was hoping for a good start. At first stop sign, immediately get screamed at, then 4 drivers don't care if they kill me in 4 miles. OK. So that's how it still is in Nashville. So exhausting.
ATTENTION #Nashville: Beware of spoofing scam from those posing as MNPD personnel asking for monetary payment to satisfy a warrant, missed court date or jury duty in unusual methods like Bitcoin & gift cards. Plz DO NOT engage these callers & report it @ https://t.co/wvKURfR3wA.

@eastnashville19@JacobKupin4D19@NashvilleDOT A better action would be to just not let them close commuter routes for no reason. This has been a problem for a decade,.so it's not a surprise.
