A Statement from VGP Regarding Grand Theft Auto VI
As gamers and retailers, we recognize that Grand Theft Auto VI is poised to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history. The excitement surrounding this release is unprecedented, and we understand why so many customers are eagerly anticipating its arrival.
For nearly 40 years, VGP has been committed to supporting physical media and preserving the value of physical game ownership. As part of that commitment, our company policy is that we do not carry physical products for video game consoles that contain only a digital download code.
Based on the information currently available, the physical release of Grand Theft Auto VI for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is expected to be a code-in-box product. As a result, VGP will not be offering it for sale under our current company policy.
We want to be clear that this decision is not a reflection of the game itself. We have tremendous respect for Rockstar Games and the incredible achievement that Grand Theft Auto VI represents.
Should Rockstar one day release a physical edition containing a disc in the box, we would be pleased to carry and support that version for our customers.
Thank you for your continued support of physical gaming and for helping us champion game preservation and ownership for nearly four decades.

"humans were never forerunner."
>Humans only can activate the halos
>They light up forerunner artifacts
>343 Guilty Spark constantly hints at it in CE
>Cut arbiter cutscene in H2
>Literal human-covenant war is over humans being forerunners
>343 GS in H3 "you are forerunner, but this is my ring."
>Gravemind "child of my enemy why have you come. I offer no forgiveness, A father's sins, passed into his son."
Ok sure buddy, keep being wrong. It was always supposed to be this way until that fucking hack writer Frank O'Connor screwed everything up with that retcon. They're still trying to course correct to this day.
@Press_X_Fool@AlucardRaus@Wario64 It's the first MS game to ever do this IIRC. Then again I don't buy Xbox as a whole on my PS5 because of the physical media being a download only; where the other 90% of games game be uploaded and played offline in couch co-op.

@VideoGamesPlus_ They've already confirmed the physical PS5 version for Halo Campaign Evolved is a 'Download Only' option, why am I not surprised.. not buying that product.
@randomguy25574 False, the vast majority of physical games doesn't require the internet at all. Very few physical games actually do require the internet, but it's a small amount. @DoesItPlay1 has plenty of games (not all) that they fully completed without the internet (or needed an update once).
@drek77107@Wario64 And all ace combat discs (and cartridges) games are playable without the internet. Again we'll have to wait until the official disc/cartridge for the AC8 labels has officially been released.
@OMG__itsWill@Wario64 Because the servers will fail eventually (which irc it has already happened a couple times already with the PS5), so better to be unrestricted (with/without the internet) forever; rather than having to make sure it stays connected all the time forever.
@OMG__itsWill@Wario64 I wait to see how updates go and download them after I make sure they're safe. However the moment I started hearing of 30 day digital DRM and it was confirmed by multiple sources; then I unplugged the ethernet cable out.
