@RolfHind @MichaelSmall22 @lluesteiwr @DutchOven969 one thing I’d add to the ‘messiness’ discussion is that I studied a ton of JH’s manuscripts at the Sacher Stiftung in Basel, and one thing that stood out is he didn’t really sketch… scales and harmonies, lots of mystical quasi-diary entries, but the fair copy *is* the piece!
