My thoughts and prayers are with Private Daniel Thrasher, a young man from our Windsor-Essex community who was critically injured while serving at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, Alberta, as well as with his loved ones and every family affected by this devastating tragedy. We mourn those who lost their lives, honour their service, and hope for the full recovery of those who were injured.

Daniel is a graduate of L'Essor and the University of Windsor, and he made the selfless decision to serve Canada. Now, during one of the most difficult moments, it is our turn to stand behind him and his family. A fundraiser has been organized to support Daniel and his family during his recovery. Windsor-Essex has always been a community that comes together when it matters most, and I encourage everyone who can to consider lending their support.
