But efficiency isn't just about speed. It's about building a team that doesn't need you for every decision. 3/3

The hardest lesson I learned as a new engineering manager: your job isn't to have all the answers anymore.

Your job is to ask the right questions.

When someone brings you a problem, the instinct is to solve it immediately. That's what made you good as an IC. 1/3

But now? Jumping in too fast means your team never builds that muscle.

I'm not saying play dumb or be unhelpful. I'm saying get comfortable with "What do you think we should do?" and "What have you already tried?" 2/3
