@INTPhoenixRay I appreciate this. I think I’m bothered by the language currently used, which is “how long this WILL take to complete.” I could soften it so it feels more like a suggestion and less like a standard.

Developing an online course and I've run into what seems like a minor issue but I think is actually pretty troublesome. I'm asked to provide an amount of time it will take students to complete readings/watch videos & lectures. 🧵

I'm a slow reader myself, so I bristle perhaps more than most at the implication that the same work will take all students the same amount of time.

Though the article is about a natural history textbook, I hope folks in NCFS will consider it when writing about racial politics, women's writing, education, and a variety of other subjects.
