Supporters attending Sunday’s fixture against Chelsea are advised that the city will be particularly busy due to BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend taking place across the same weekend.
An increased number of visitors will be travelling into and around Sunderland, which may impact traffic and public transport services.
The event’s park and ride facility will operate from Park Lane Bus Station, affecting availability within nearby city centre car parks.
Temporary road closures will also be in place around Herrington Country Park, including the A183 from Shiney Row to its junction with the A19, along with the northbound slip road off the A19. Diversions will be in operation to help manage traffic flows.
Supporters are encouraged to plan their journey in advance, allow additional travel time, and arrive at the Stadium of Light as early as possible to avoid delays.https://t.co/Udc4H9Uy2t
WOW!
Sunderland are considering replacing Regis Le Bris if the Black Cats miss out on Europe
(Alex Crook)
Very ambitious from the owners but surely you give him another season after what they've achieved this season under him
I am VERY proud of @SunderlandAFC Regis, it’s been an unforgettable season.
Thank you for putting this together @AndyKerrtv what a great surprise for my final PL studio 🤗
The derby NUFC could not lose ends in defeat & it’s entirely deserved for SAFC.
Home midfield on the missing list for too much of this game & defence too soft when they had to resist.
Brian Brobbey the game’s best player by a distance.
Newcastle took lead but never had control.
