What’s fun about NBA trades now is literally every single one is a reminder of how Nico is the worst GM in NBA history and it’s a joke that he still has that job. Happy Father’s Day!
Love the players. Will cheer for them now and for whatever team they go to in the future. But when it comes to blind fandom — loyalty runs both ways. The organization has spoken. They don't respect fans. They don't respect Dirk. They don't respect what you've built along with this community. The staff is miserable. The fans are making their voices heard. And the response from the org? More insults. More prioritizing an egomaniac's plan over what DALLAS wants. So what happens when every single thing you loved about your team gets stripped away to the point that all that is recognizable is a horse logo?
MFFL... I'm sorry but this version of the Mavs does not deserve fans for life.
Dallas Mavericks in 2025:
- Dereck Lively II suffers ankle stress fracture
- Luka Doncic traded
- Anthony Davis suffers strained adductor
- Daniel Gafford suffers sprained MCL
- Quentin Grimes scores 44 points
- Jalen Brunson named Player of the Week
- Lakers move up to 2 seed
- Mavs announce season ticket price increase
- Kyrie Irving tears ACL
* Mavericks traded Luka Dončić, one of the greatest players of all time (who just led them to the Finals), after negotiating with one team and asking that team to keep quiet about it. "You got, Nico!"
* The deal was so genuinely unbelievable that we all assumed Shams had been hacked.
* Every single attempt to make the trade look better has made the organization look worse. On the record or otherwise, everything from Nico Harrison and Patrick Dumont is, at best, nonsensical. Anthony Davis' position and archetype are far less valuable for a modern playoff run than Luka's. Luka is six years younger. Luka's a five-time First Team All-NBA playmaker who's basically averaged a 30-point triple-double for almost six years. Dallas got a worse, older player, a potential future rotation player and almost no draft capital for him. Given everything Luka had already accomplished and his connection to the fans, his being "out of shape," however Dallas wanted to define that, was truly immaterial.
* The oft-injured AD got hurt in his first game with Dallas.
* Front office also traded Quentin Grimes because it doesn't want to pay him. He just had a career-high 44 points for the 76ers.
* Lakers have surged into 2nd place in the West since the deal.
* While the fan base is very openly and understandably revolting against the franchise, it announced an 8% increase in season ticket pricing.
* Kyrie Irving, who's been a pretty incredible soldier in the midst of all this madness, just left tonight's game with what's currently being called a knee sprain.
* Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford were already hurt, too.
This all happened in the last several weeks. And somehow, I still feel like I'm missing things.
Patrick Dumont married into the family that ran the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. They made him CFO in 2016 and COO in 2021. In that time, the company's market cap has decreased by 7 billion dollars. So if anyone understands hard work, it's a nepo-in-law who sucks at his job
Mavs Nation, The chant is:
“FI-RE NI-CO, <clap-clap, clap-clap-clap> FI-RE NI-CO, <clap-clap, clap-clap-clap>”
None of this “Nico Sucks” weak sauce. This needs to be an incessant call to action that follows the front office everywhere they go. @KirkSeriousFace, please retweet so we can get this right.
Be there Saturday. Will be wild.
