Alec Bohm's parents used money from his own charitable foundation to pay their personal bills.
Not just his MLB salary. Not just the investment accounts they set up without telling him what was in them. His charity. The Alec Bohm Foundation. They took from that too.
And when Bohm finally asked for account statements and login info in January, they hired a lawyer instead of answering. Seven years of this. LLCs they controlled, accounts he couldn't access, millions funneled away from a guy who trusted the two people you're supposed to be able to trust. The lawsuit is asking for $3 million minimum.
Now I'm seeing people online saying he should be grateful because they raised him. I genuinely don't know what to say to that. They raised him and then allegedly robbed him for the better part of a decade. That's not a defense. That's the whole point. It only worked because he trusted them.
Theft is theft. The people who did it don't get a discount because they're family.
USA loses 3-2. Mark DeRosa takes 3 Gunnar Henderson ABs away to start Alex Bregman who goes 0-3. Byron Buxton who was hitless in the WBC starts over PCA. DeRosa is a terrible terrible manager. I can see why he wasn’t a finalist for any of the job openings. Brutal stuff. #birdland
This is like Auburn from last year where Duke absolutely handles a very good opponent and wins and everyone leaves the game convinced that the other team would win in a rematch lmao. Think it was just a fluke win.
No one giving Duke credit for holding a historic offense to a season low in points and FG%. No one giving Cam Boozer credit for being the best player in America and willing his team to win. No one giving Scheyer credit for 100% out coaching Dusty.
Stay on that side
Hate to see that…
NCAA Suspends All Three Officials After Duke–Carolina Game in Chapel Hill, Cites Bias Toward North Carolina
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The NCAA announced early Sunday morning that all three referees from last night’s Duke–North Carolina matchup in Chapel Hill have been suspended indefinitely following what the organization described as “clear and documented officiating bias favoring the home team.”
The decision comes after an expedited overnight review of game film from the rivalry showdown between the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels a contest that quickly drew national attention for its one-sided whistle, missed calls in the paint, and inconsistent enforcement of physical play.
“Home-court advantage is one thing,” the NCAA said in a statement. “Home-court officiating is another.”
According to sources close to the review, officials identified multiple possessions in which Duke players absorbed significant contact with no whistle, followed immediately by touch fouls called on the other end. Several non-calls were described internally as “indefensible,” while replay reviews were labeled “selectively interpreted.”
One NCAA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said:
“When crowd reaction appears to influence officiating decisions possession after possession, competitive integrity is compromised.”
The referees were reportedly removed from future assignments after investigators concluded that the officiating crew “failed to apply rules evenly” and allowed game flow to be dictated by environment rather than enforcement.
While the NCAA stopped short of altering the game’s official result, the league acknowledged that officiating “materially impacted the competitive balance” of the contest and “overshadowed what should have been a showcase rivalry game.”
The suspended officials will undergo retraining focused on neutrality, pressure management, and what the NCAA described as “remembering that Cameron Indoor and the Dean Dome do not have different rulebooks.”
