Less screen time. More family time. ❤️
Practical ideas.

Soon, the little one of the house will reach that stage. 🥰

At this age, your heart simply melts. It's the sweetest period of all, the one you wish could last forever. 💕

1. My 11-year-old went from 5 hours of screens to 2 in 7 days. Zero yelling. Here's the plan.
2. 7 days. 0 fights. 3 hours of screen time gone. Here's the exact plan.
3. Teens average 8h39m on screens. Parents who cut it by 3 hours all did these 7 things.

(If you don't have a real case like the first one, use option 2 or 3. Don't invent a story.)

The 7-day plan:

1. Day 1: Track real screen time (no judging)
2. Day 2: Talk, don't lecture
3. Day 3: Set 3 simple rules together
4. Day 4: Replace 1 hour with a fun activity
5. Day 5: Adjust what's not working
6. Day 6: Celebrate the wins
7. Day 7: Lock in the new routine

No bribes. No shouting. Just small steps.

@Manik_M_Jolly 🧠 A simple brain workout for kids and adults!
Ask your kids to put screens aside for 10 minutes and try this. It can help boost focus, concentration, and cognitive skills.

[Ryan West @RyanWest22]

1. Your kid will spend 8+ years of their life on screens. Did anyone ask them if that's the plan?
2. Teens average 8 hours 39 minutes of screen entertainment a day. That's more than a full-time job.
3. Every hour your child scrolls, they lose something you can't buy back.
Teens average 8h39m of screen entertainment a day. Tweens average 5h33m (Common Sense Media, 2021). That time comes from 3 things:

1. Boredom, where creativity starts
2. Conversation, where connection grows
3. Sleep, where the brain recovers

Cutting just 30 minutes a day gives back 182 hours a year. That's 7+ full days.

Confession: most parents set screen rules they can't enforce.
"No phones ever" collapses by Wednesday. Realistic, small rules you actually keep beat strict ones you abandon.

Try this instead of "Give me that phone."
"I can see you're into that. Let's pause in 10 minutes, then do X together." Warning + connection + a plan = far less resistance.

The average kid checks their phone over 50 times a day.
That's not weakness. Apps are designed to pull them back. Your child isn't failing, they're up against a system built by experts.

"Put it down!" has never worked once.
Yelling creates a power struggle. Kids dig in harder. Calm and clear boundaries beat loud commands every time. Tomorrow I'll share a script.

Your child isn't addicted to the phone. They're avoiding something.
Screen fights often hide a deeper need: boredom, stress, or connection. Before taking the phone away, ask: "What is it giving them right now?"

Don't compare your child to other families.
“Everyone else gets unlimited screen time.”
Maybe.
But every family has different:
• routines
• values
• schedules
• children
• needs
Your goal isn't to copy another family.
It's to find what works for yours.

One of the most underrated parenting tools?
A dinner table without phones.
Not because phones are evil.
Because conversation needs space.
Ask your child:
“What was the best part of your day?”
You might be surprised by the answer.

What would your family do with one extra hour every day?
Imagine replacing just part of that screen time with:
❤️ Talking
⚽ Playing
📚 Reading
🚶 Walking
🎨 Creating
What would YOUR family choose?

📌 Save this for the next phone battle.
When your child refuses to put the phone away:
1-Stay calm.
2-Repeat the boundary.
3-Avoid a long argument.
4-Give a clear next activity.
5-Stay consistent.
You don't have to win the argument.
You have to maintain the boundary.

The goal isn't:
❌ “Make my child hate their phone.”
The goal is:
✅ “Help my child learn when the phone belongs in their life—and when it doesn't.”
That's a completely different approach.
Technology isn't going away.
Healthy habits matter.

Apparently, they’re learning how to hug… 🥹❤️

But the way the little one in blue patiently waits for their turn? MY HEART. 😭💙

Too pure. Too precious. Someone protect these little souls. 🫶✨

Want to reduce screen time?
Don't start with punishment.
Start with a plan.
Ask:
When can screens be used?
Where can they be used?
When must they be put away?
What happens next?
Clear expectations can make boundaries easier to understand.
